After pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher, Dr. Naomi Greenwald realized she was passionate about helping children with learning and emotional challenges. She graduated with a PhD in School and Clinical Psychology at OISE/University of Toronto, and is currently a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Throughout her academic career, Naomi received a variety of awards for her accomplishments, including the prestigious Governor General’s Award for the highest standing in her graduating class.
In the course of her training, Naomi has gained experience at a variety of sites, including The Toronto District School Board and Surrey Place Centre. She has worked at Cornerstone since 2014. Naomi performs psychological assessments for children and adolescents with a wide range of issues such as intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. She strives to apply her first-hand knowledge of the classroom gained during her years as a teacher in tailoring her recommendations for each client.
In her therapy work, Naomi maintains a caring and relaxed ambiance where children and adolescents feel comfortable discussing their mental health concerns. She draws upon a variety of techniques to create an individualized approach for each client, and often incorporates art and play therapy techniques into her sessions. Naomi has special expertise working with clients with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, self-regulation issues, OCD, autism, anxiety, selective mutism, and chronic illness.
